Brown Butter – Crispy Rice Treats
It’s been years since I’ve had a rice crispy square. It’s never the first thing I go for when given an option. The cookie, brownie, slice of cake or all of the above seem to make the cut ahead of the rice crispy square. When I came across this recipe from the Flour Bakery for Brown Butter Crispy Rice Treats, I knew I had to give it a go. I cannot quite explain the deliciousness of these treats, but they are definitely not the same treat you had growing up. They are so much better.

Aritzia Blouse, Aritzia Tank, Seven For All Mankind Coated Denim, Miu Miu Boots (similar here), Burberry Parka (similar here), Alexander Wang Handbag, Alden Rae Bracelet, Hermes Watch
This weekend warmed up nicely, and I made an effort to get outside and enjoy the sunshine. There was some zoo time, football, an interesting documentary and some serious packing. This week will be a busy one and I’m hoping I’m prepared, here’s to a productive Monday.
Lady Like
BCBG Sweater Dress, Burberry Coat (similar here), J.Crew Tights, BCBG Belt, Christian Louboutin Booties (similar here), Celine Handbag, Michael Kors Watch, La Vie Parisienne Earrings
There’s nothing quite like a coat that has a feminine touch without compromising clean lines and style. I knew instantly that I would be able to wear this coat a multitude of ways, including on its own. Done up, or left open over top a dress and tights as I did, is the perfect recipe to feel a little extra lady-like. We should all have at least two one of these pieces in our wardrobes, right ladies?
Cold Climate
J. Crew Blouse, Rag & Bone Sweater, Rag & Bone Denim, Burberry Boots (similar here), Burberry Parka, Alexander Wang Handbag, Coach Gloves, Aritzia Hat
I braved the cold yesterday and had a fabulous time connecting with friends and family. At every opportunity I indulged in hot coffee or soup to aid in my warmth. I find that even though this is my third winter in Calgary, I’m still getting used to the long winters. All the spring fashion that is coming out is a complete tease, and months away from being able to be worn here. The only thing to do while I wait for the warm weather is to kill the time with fabulous friends and tasty treats. Doesn’t sound too bad after all.
Winter Work Wear
Diane Von Furstenberg Dress (similar here), Artizia Blazer, Adrienne Landau Fur Vest (similar here), Manolo Blahnik Pumps, Alden Rae Bracelet, Hermes Watch, David Yurman Bracelet
When it’s this cold outside it’s hard to get motivated to wear anything other than the warmest and coziest of attire. But when that alarm clock sounds and you have to get to work, working with layers is the only option. You can pair a winter appropriate dress with a blazer and a vest, and mix and match throughout the day depending on your needs. Walking to and fro coffee break may require every layer you have though, as well as that cute parka your cubicle neighbor has been sporting lately.
