Cowboy Cookies
I have heard about cowboy cookies from the likes of friends and family, but have never actually given them a go myself…until this past weekend. The Baked Explorations cookbook has been a go-to for me. But it definitely earned its keep in the cupboard with this recipe for Cowboy Cookies. When I tell you that I ate a dozen of them before I was able to Zero Dark Thirty them out of the house, I’m not exaggerating. Of course it was a baker’s dozen. I figured with all that oatmeal they had to be pretty healthy. I have yet to find a paying job as a cookie taste tester, but if I was I would rate these a perfect ten.
Pumped Up Kicks
Equipment Blouse (different color here), Wildfox Sweater, Paige Premium Denim, Giuseppe Zanotti Wedge Sneakers, Alexander Wang Handbag
I have to say when I first heard about wedge sneakers I was completely skeptical. I thought that it was a trend I could easily pass on with no regret. That all changed when I tried these kicks on in New York last week. I immediately imagined all of the places I would be able to wear them, all of the outfits I could style to go with them. The comfort factor was the nail in the coffin, and before I knew it I had tucked these sneaks safely in my suitcase. The only problem now is making sure I give my other footwear a chance to see the light of day.
Pop of Pink
Diane Von Furstenberg Sweater (different color here), Rag & Bone Denim, Rebecca Minkoff Blazer (different color here), Yves Saint Laurent Pumps, Alexander Wang Handbag, Chanel Watch, Tiffany Earrings
In honor of Valentine’s Day I thought I would incorporate a pop of pink into my outfit this week. I have had a life long, deep infatuation for the color pink. I even deemed it ‘my signature’ growing up. It’s rather remarkable though, that despite my love affair with the color, there is actually very little of it in my closet. Much to my relief however, it seems as though pink is hot for spring. If that’s the case I’ll take one of everything please, thankyouverymuch.
Cheetah Paws
Club Monaco Blouse (similar here), Rag & Bone Jeans, Mackage for Aritzia Leather Jacket, Louis Vuitton Booties, Tom Ford Handbag (similar here or here), Tiffany Earrings, Michael Kors Watch, David Yurman Bracelet
I know it sounds clichéd, but I can’t help it, I have a serious love on for cheetah print. A dash of the print in a top, jacket, skirt or in my case yesterday, a fabulous pair of booties can really bring an outfit to life. No need to worry about the print being too tacky or old-lady. The pieces found on the retail floors today are a mix of classic, on trend, and investment worthy. The next time you think your outfit may be lacking a little something, throw on some cheetah, I guarantee it will make your day.
Silk and Suede
Aritzia Dress, Faliero Sarti Scarf, Wolford Nylons, Manolo Blahnik Boots, Alexander Wang Handbag, Hermes Watch, David Yurman Bracelet, La Vie Parisienne Earrings
Usually I look longingly at the weather app for New York, which is almost always a few degrees above Calgary. So it was a welcome change to come back from NYC to spring-like weather in YYC. This kind of weather is such a tease, as I know there will likely be more snow to come before actual spring. But until that snow falls again you’ll be seeing me in dresses, tights and my favorite suede boots.
