Mint green is a hot color again for spring, and this time around I wanted to be sure not to miss out. I love the ease of this mint green dress along with the versatility and flexibility of it. If a trendy color is intimidating for you, try it out in a classic style, such as the shirt dress that I’ve chosen. This way you’ll already know how to style it with neutrals you currently have in your closet.
Classic Carrot Cake Cupcakes
Easter is just around the corner, and I love contributing a dessert that not only wows in the cuteness factor, but leaves my fellow dinner guests asking for seconds. So in a nauseatingly-cute moment of weakness I thought it would appropriate to whip up some classic carrot cupcakes, complete with bunny on top. I found an amazing recipe for Classic Carrot Cake in the Flour Bakery cookbook. I’m not sure if it was the toasted walnuts, the fresh carrot or the cream cheese frosting, but these cupcakes turned out more delicious than I could have imagined. The abundance of carrots packed into each cupcake was astonishing. Almost as mind boggling as the fact that these cupcakes tasted as decadent and savory as if they had no veg at all in them.

Spring is here and with it an abundance of beautiful brights, pretty pastels, and fabulous florals. It’s no wonder that spring is my favorite season based on this observation alone. I thought I would share a few items that have caught my eye for spring, which I plan on conveniently leaving open on my man’s computer. You know, just in case he’s interested in purchasing knowing.

Mother nature got the memo about the first day of spring, and it allowed me to don the first dress of the season in all of my bare legged glory. I spotted this dress in NYC and immediately acknowledged the potential and versatility it would have in my closet. I’m pairing it with a leather jacket and booties for spring, but come summer I have a whole new batch of plans including gladiator sandals, sparkly belts and light weight cardigans.

This past weekend I celebrated my 30th birthday, and by yesterday morning I was still recovering. The idea of putting a great deal of effort into getting ready had me cringing. So instead, I glammed up my sweater by adding a rhinestone collar necklace that gave it a pop of pretty it needed. I love the idea of merchandising your more casual attire with sparkly jewels. No one would ever guess that I feel like I’m wearing my sweats on top.
