When I go away on a big trip I tend to put a lot of thought and care in to my packing. I always start off by asking myself, do I pack brown shoes paired with gold jewelery or do I go with black and a pop of silver. Whatever I end up choosing I make sure that I’m packing as little as possible to create the maximum number of outfits. So when I headed off to Bora Bora it was all about being able to take my beach wear to happy hour, and my breakfast ensemble to a luxurious afternoon at the spa. I was completely inspired by how well dressed my fellow diners were, and I thought I would share some of the items I brought along with me, and others that I’m currently still craving.
Sea Breeze
While on vacation I took it as a personal challenge to work my way through the beach-side cocktail list. There were fruity concoctions, thick chocolate shakes, but my personal favorite was a a mix of fresh juices. Upon arrival home I decided to scour the recipe books to try and recreate my vacation beverage, and this recipe for a Sea Breeze comes pretty darn close. The freshly squeezed grapefruit juice really brought it up to the next level, and makes it healthy extra delicious. All I can think now is how dangerous it is having this recipe in my possession…anyone up for drinks this weekend?

While it felt as though I could stay in Bora Bora forever, there really is no place like home. With May long weekend under my belt, my upcoming weeks, especially weekends, are filled down to the minute. I love this time of year, when everyone is busily planning their summer events, trying to maximize the sunshine and longer days. Calgary does summer brilliantly, with days that last until 10pm, when the sun finally sets. I love being able to throw on a skirt filled with flowers and race out the door, there really is no greater feeling.
Victoria Day
Here in Canada we’re celebrating Victoria Day, our May long weekend that is the official kick- off to summer. The official weekend to the start of camping, opening up the old cabin, and planting those flowers. I want to wish all of my Canadian friends and family a fabulous long weekend, I hope you’re all staying safe and having a wonderful time. Here’s to a summer filled with sunshine, road trips, visit from friends near and far, drinks on the patio and long summer days.
One Piece, Three Ways – Printed Skirt
Club Monaco Skirt, Equipment Blouse (similar style here), Chanel Handbag, Manolo Blahnik Pumps, Club Monaco Sweater, Fendi Flats, Club Monaco Clutch, Urban Outfitters Sweatshirt (similar here), Paige Jean Jacket, Loeffler Randall Oxfords (similar here), Hermes Watch, David Yurman Bracelet, Stella & Dot Bracelet
There’s something so special about finding a print that speaks to you. I have many blouses with prints so delicious in appearance I could eat them up. When it comes to a statement print on the bottom half however, I’m much more cautious. That was until this particular skirt came along. Despite the attention the skirt commands due to the print, it’s incredibly figure flattering, and with the proper top, you almost don’t even notice the pattern. I only wish it came in more colors.
