Red, White and Blue
Aritzia Wilfred Dress, Alice + Olivia Jacket, Kate Spade Belt, Valentino Pumps, BCBG Clutch (similar here and here), Gucci Watch, Kate Spade Bracelet, Pandora Bracelet, Stella & Dot Bracelet
With Canada Day just past and Independence Day taking place for our neighbors south of the border, I was able to find the perfect ensemble to pull double duty. I love showing a little patriotism every now and then, especially when it involves the challenge of looking cute without being too kitschy (although there are certain times when kitsch is called for). I love a good challenge and in this case I think I may be repeating this exact look for next year. Let’s just pretend you never saw this when that day rolls around, deal?
Year One
It’s hard to believe that an entire year of blogging has gone by. I can still remember every detail of that first post, how excited I was to share it with the world, and how exhilarating it was to push the ‘Publish’ button the first time. This blog has been a space for me to share my creativity, my passion for fashion and a little bit about me personally. I love having an outlet to be creative in and I have met so many wonderful people through my blog, and learned more than I ever thought I would. I have to send out a huge blog-iversary thank you to my ultimate blogging buddy, Centre Street’s very own photographer, Chris Lassu. Without him this blog wouldn’t be happening, and I’m so grateful for the time spent photographing and imparting photography tips. Thanks to my readers for your support and stopping by to share in sweet treats, outfit posts, and entertaining tips and tricks, it has meant so much to me. Here’s to another fabulous year with even more to come.
Silk Shorts
BCBG Blouse (similar here and here), Aritzia Shorts, Valentino Pumps, Balenciaga Handbag, Dior Sunglasses (similar here), La Vie Parisienne Earrings, Chanel Watch, Swarovski Bracelets
In the past I’ve tended to stay away from shorts that weren’t of the jean variety. This summer has been a different story, with the abundance of shorts options, I just can’t seem to stay away. I love that I have another option aside from dresses and skirts to put on before heading out for drinks on the patio. I can easily see this pair of shorts being dressed down for a casual Saturday picnic with flats and a tee, or being glammed up for girls night out with a blazer and some bling.
White On
Blouse / Denim / Flats / Watch / Bracelet / Handbag / Tank / Shorts / Flip Flops / Sunglasses / Watch / Handbag / Dress / Pumps
I use to be hesitant about wearing white. The rumor that it makes you look larger than you are and the fact you are inevitably going to get it filthy throughout the day often led me in another direction. So it’s ironic that all I want to do these days is drape myself in head-to-toe white ensembles. I love how fresh it looks, how it can be sexy or preppy or edgy depending on how you style it. I plan on wearing white all summer long and these are a few of the pieces that I’m currently coveting for my closet.
A Little Bit Country
Club Monaco Dress, J.Crew Denim Jacket (altered to be a vest), Prada Booties, Celine Handbag, Anzie Earrings, Tiffany Necklace
I’ve mentioned before that come summer time my go-to uniform absolutely includes a dress as the base layer. I love that there’s so many ways to style any dress, and the other day definitely felt a little bit country after adding a denim vest to my ensemble. This look got me from meetings to errands and everything in between. The best part is that it took no time at all to pull it together, and had I needed to do a quick turn around to meet my gals for dinner an exchange of sky high pumps for the boots and a crisp blazer instead of the denim vest, and I’d be set.
