When the heat starts rising I trade in my hot coffee for the iced variety, there’s just no other way to get that jolt of caffeine in those early mornings.  Until I came across the recipe for Cappuccino Ice Pops that is.  They were so easy to make it almost felt like cheating, but the results speak for themselves.  So delicious I couldn’t stop at just two one, and by the time my taste testing was complete, I had a whole batch of new energy to tackle the day with.  I think that’s what you call a win-win.

Some days require outfits that are more accommodating for the practicality of real life.  But just because there are errands to run, it doesn’t mean you need to look sloppy doing so.  All summer long my go-to has been a comfy pair of shorts, often layered with tanks and sweaters and always finished off with a fab pair of flat sandals.  Getting groceries, walking the dogs, lunch with the girls, I can do it all in this comfy little ensemble.

Calgary has finally decided to smarten up about the summer weather situation and this week is forecasted to be beautiful.  Sunny days absolutely require flirty dresses, which means I get to put my jeans aside and hike up the hem line.  I’m looking forward to a week filled with gorgeous weather, outdoor activities and fabulous friends and family.  Oh and being productive at work, obviously.

I’ve talked about the printed blouse before, but I feel the need to revisit just how versatile, easy-to-wear and fabulous it can be in the summer.  If ever I’m struggling to find my way out the door in a fashionable manner, I always turn to my trusty blouses.  Office wear, drinks with the girls or Sunday brunch, you’re covered, literally, for nearly any occasion that may pop up.  This summer has seen my feather blouse in many a social scenario, and I can guarantee you, fall will be getting a glimpse of it as well.

The weather in Calgary this summer has not met local expectations, to put it politely.  This past week has involved denim, leather jackets and sweaters layered over summer tanks, all in an effort to keep warm.  In trying to get out of my fall-like weather rut I decided to stay away from long denim and instead hiked up my hemline with a little sequin number.  The leather can stay but at least having bare legs in August is a reminder that it’s supposed to be summer.
