I’ve mentioned before that some of my favourite ensembles are those that involve dresses. That sentiment doesn’t stop when winter rolls around either. My closet houses some fabulous winter dresses, ones made of wool and long sleeves that literally cannot be donned in summer time. There’s something so refreshing about trotting around the city in the winter staying warm as pie despite my short hemline. Some days I just love being a girl.

There has been some seriously crazy weather going down in the country of Canada, and Calgary has not been immune to it. It’s funny to me that I anticipate a white Christmas, I cross my fingers for it, I try to make deals with Mother Nature, but come January 1st, I’m so over it. Unfortunately for me (and the rest of the YYC residents), we still have a solid three more months of possible snow storms. Thank goodness for the occasional warm front that rolls in, there’s only so many ways to wear your parka and snow boots.

The start of a New Year always feels so refreshing. It’s an opportunity to set goals for the coming year, evaluate and reevaluate what worked and what didn’t, and allows one to honour the passing of time. I’m envisioning 2014 to be filled with all sorts of adventures, all tackled in the chicest of ensembles, obviously.

This time every year never fails to make me at least a little bit sentimental as I take inventory of how truly blessed I am. I’ll be spending this evening ringing in the New Year with the best of my friends and family, a little champagne bar action, and a chic ensemble. Hoping that whatever you’re finding your fabulous little selves up to this eve, you are safe and sound and lucky enough to be spending the night with those that matter most. Thanks for all of your support in 2013, and here’s to an even better 2014.

I can’t believe that Christmas is literally days away. I feel as though I painstakingly patiently wait for it’s arrival all year long, and yet when it gets here, it feels as though the month of December flies by in the blink of an eye. There are moments of the season that I wish I could press pause on. That way I could take my time inhaling the sweet scents, savouring the delicious foods and attempt to capture that warm fuzzy feeling that comes with being around friends and family during the holiday. Whatever it is you’re up to this weekend my friends, I wish you all safe travels, and time stuffed to the brim with family and friends, delicious food and drink, and all your favourite traditions of the season.
