Its always a relief when Friday rolls around, but it becomes even more exciting when your birthday lands on the Saturday. Such is the case for me, and my weekend has already started filling up with the A-list of friends and family. Dinner, drinks, pedicures and girl time are all lined up and it’s moments like these that I let myself get a little bit sentimental, feeling so blessed for everything and everyone in my little life. Here’s to a fabulous weekend, no matter what you’re getting up to.

Often I forget about the impact that a single colour can have as an ensemble. Dressing head to toe in one hue not only streamlines getting ready in the morning, but manages to make one look as though they invested so much more time in getting ready than they truly did. As spring approaches I’m already considering adorning myself solely in outfits of ivory, white or pale pink. Ensembles that will be easy on the eyes and fabulous for my time management problem situation.
Sometimes I have ideas, outlandish, grandiose, dreamy ideas. Sometimes they don’t materialize for one reason or another, but every now and again one actually comes to life. So was the case when I dreamed of having a room where it’s sole purpose was to house the soles of my shoes. When Avenue Magazine asked if they could photograph my shoe room for an article in the February issue, I was thrilled that others would get a glimpse into what I feel so blessed to call my own. I worked closely with the fabulous Jacqueline Corea of Corea Sotropa to create this dreamy fashion paradise. You can read the full Avenue Magazine article here. This weekend was everything a weekend should be. Relaxing, productive, filled with an abundance of family and friends, and time spent at the rink and outdoors. It was so lovely to get outside and enjoy the spring-like weather and it was finally nice enough to match my shoes to the sky. There is something so invigorating about spring time, with everything coming back to life after making it through an especially tough winter. The entire week is forecasted to be beautiful, and I plan on spending as much of it as possible outdoors.

I love the weeks when Friday has a fabulous feeling to it. When there’s just enough activities scheduled throughout the weekend to look forward to, but also enough down time sprinkled in that last minute plans are an option. The weather is warming up enough to get outside for a run, hockey playoffs are going down, and there’s finally time to catch up on all of my pre-recorded Dateline episodes. I’m thinking my weekend is looking pretty promising.
