Purple Print
Rebecca Taylor Tank (via Coco + Violet), Citizens of Humanity Denim, Saint Laurent Pumps, Chanel Handbag, Tiffany Necklace, Hermes Watch, Kate Spade Bracelet, David Yurman Bracelet, J Crew Earrings
I’m getting used to my new hair hue. It’s been interesting discovering the ripple effect that changing up my hair has had. Clothing and cosmetics that I used to don with ease alongside my dark locks no longer look right next to my strawberry blonde colouring. Luckily there are still pieces in my closet that play nice with the new hue, and they just happen to be a couple of my favourites. Case in point, the purple print tank above.
Big Changes
Vince Sweater, Vince Leather Shorts (similar here), Valentino Pumps, Chanel Handbag, La Vie Parisienne Necklace, J Crew Earrings
Sometimes you need a change up. With so many alterations currently taking place in my life, I thought now was the perfect time for a little hair transformation. Under the talented hands of my trusty hairstylist, Rachelle, from Hedkandi Salon, I went from brunette to strawberry blonde. Having a different look is exactly what I need right now, and it’s been so much fun showing off my new hue. The only question now is, more blonde?
Caramel Pumpkin Cupcakes
With the unexpected change in weather, I found myself craving everything the holidays have to offer. Warm fire, hot cup of tea, spicy gingerbread and decadent pumpkin desserts. I came across the recipe for Caramel Pumpkin Cupcakes in the Butter Baked Goods Cookbook and it lived up to all of my premature holiday cravings. Topped off with a cream cheese frosting and drizzled with dulce de leche, they were a perfect mix of tangy cream cheese, sweet caramel, and spicy pumpkin.
Dipping Into Winter
Helmut Lang Sweater, Rag & Bone Leather Pants, Valentino Boots, Celine Handbag, Faliero Sarti Scarf (similar here), J Crew Earrings, Hermes Watch, Kate Spade Bracelet, David Yurman Bracelet
After spending the weekend in Seattle, taking in the market, indulging in delicious dining and of course, cheering on the big game, all while the weather hit highs of 30°C, being back in Calgary has been a bit of a shock. We’ve been hit with an unseasonable snowstorm that has been wrecking havoc. Of course at this time of year I had not expected snow, so all of my winter ensembles are packed tightly away, waiting for a more reasonable calendar date to make an appearance. So in a complete and utter hurry I dug out some essentials that I knew would get me through this week of ‘winter’. It’s times like these that make me question my commitment to this mostly fabulous city.
September Issue
T by Alexander Wang Tank, Vince Pants, Gianvito Rossi Pumps (different color here), Chanel Handbag, Tiffany Necklace, Hermes Watch, J Crew Bracelet, Kate Spade Bracelet, David Yurman Bracelet
There’s something so wonderful about the start of September. Something inherently inside of me that gets excited to dive into fresh opportunities and undertake new challenges. My motivation to take on the world is always at it’s highest this time of year. When I attended school there was the additional pleasure of fresh notebooks and pretty pens that helped tackle my fresh list of life’s to-do’s. But nowadays it’s the reward of crossing tasks off that list and the intention of infinite possibilities that motivates me to journey forward.
