Criss Cross
Diane von Furstenberg Dress, Burberry Coat, Aquazzura Pumps (different colour here and here), Chanel Handbag, J. Crew Earrings
I love textural details that add a completely different dimension to an already dynamic article of clothing. Which is exactly why I was so drawn to this, seemingly simple, dress. As I get older classic pieces are more prevalent and more relevant in my closet, but I still appreciate when they have a slight edge to them. This DVF dress fits that bill and I just know that I’ll be able to style it in a multitude of ways for a variety of events. Staying power, check.
Print Mash Up
Tibi Tank, Kate Spade Pants (top version here), Giovanni Rossi Pumps, Chanel Handbag, Shinola Watch, David Yurman Bracelet, Tiffany Bracelet
I can’t believe the weekend is already here, lately the weeks seem to fly by in the blink of an eye. I have a fantastic line up this weekend that includes an introduction to a girlfriend’s new bundle of joy, cheering on the Flames at the Dome, and spending Mother’s Day with my mom and the troops. Whatever it is you may be getting up to this weekend, I hope you all have a wonderful time, and that you’re able to spend time, talk to, or get a word out to your own amazing mother’s.
Flash of Neon
J. Crew Dress (similar here), IRO Leather Jacket (different colours here and here), Kate Spade Pumps, Christian Louboutin Clutch (different colour here), Alexis Bittar Earrings, Hermes Watch, David Yurman Bracelet
Sometimes unusual pairings can be surprisingly on point, and one can easily achieve this kind of contrast with colour. I purchased these neon beauties two summers ago, and they’re still my go-to accessory when I’m looking to jazz up an ensemble. I find accessories to be a user-friendly way to play around with bright colours without having to commit to an entire outfit that you may only don once or twice. Go ahead my friends, let loose and have a little fun, and this summer let brighter be better.
Caged
Dolce Vita Dress (similar here), Club Monaco Leather Jacket, Stuart Weitzman Gladiator Sandals, Celine Handbag, Tiffany Necklace, Shinola Watch
I returned home from Vancouver late last week and spent the weekend catching up on life. It’s funny how you can feel like you belong in one city when you visit there, and another entirely when you return home. I wasn’t successful in coercing anyone home in my suitcase, but I’m hopeful for a summer full of fresh faced visitors here in YYC. Until then I have lots to busy myself with, and can’t wait to show you all what I’ve been working on.
Lace Love
Tory Burch Dress (different colour here), Burberry Trench, Valentino Pumps, Diane Von Furstenberg Clutch
It’s coming up on five years since I moved away from the beautiful city of Vancouver back to my hometown of Calgary. It’s hard to believe that amount of time has passed, and even harder to comprehend all of the changes that have taken place during that time. My life itself looks completely different than it did back then, so much so, that my old life in Vancouver seems a lifetime ago. Luckily, I’m a short plane ride away, so when my heart yearns for those forever friends I met almost ten years ago, I pack my bags and get myself out there to see them. I just have to devise a way to bring them back home with me now…
