Winter Neutrals
Burberry Parka, Club Monaco Blouse, Club Monaco Sweater, Rag & Bone Jeans, Burberry Boots (similar here), Louis Vuitton Handbag, Michael Kors Watch, Tiffany Earrings
We had our first big snowfall of the season yesterday. While most in the city were complaining about their commute and having to bundle up, I was secretly doing cartwheels. I love the change of season, the crisp air, the fluffy white snow, and winter fashions. Skinny jeans tucked into boots and cute parkas are staples to get me through the winter season. There will definitely be a point when you see me trade in my equestrian boots for Sorels. The day that happens you’ll know that it’s unnecessarily cold, which is probably the day I’ll start wishing for summer.
Poker Night Party
I hosted a poker party this past weekend for my photographer, and I made sure the only thing that he had to worry about was the guest list. It was actually his idea to have a hot dog bar, and I completely ran with the idea. I found a hot dog machine that kept the dogs toasty warm all night and made a batch of chilli that allowed for the construction of chilli cheese dogs. There was an abundance of snacks, drinks and some serious poker playing. It was deemed a huge success and I’m already plotting menus and themes for future poker parties.
Glammed Up Pumpkins
I love decorating for Halloween, especially when it comes to placing pumpkins around the house. Unfortunately real pumpkins have a shelf life that doesn’t last past Halloween, much less from year to year. So I decided to have a little fun transforming simple plastic pumpkins into glamorous little works of art. You can match your pumpkins to your decor, or make a statement and have them shine on their own. The best part about this project is that you can pull out these pumpkins year after year. So get those creative juices flowing and get ready to get messy in a way that doesn’t involve pumpkin seeds and carving knives.
Poker Chip Sugar Cookies
Every time I see beautifully decorated sugar cookies I always have the urge to pull out my rolling pin and cookies cutters and do the same. But because it’s so time consuming I never seem to get around to it. I’m hosting a poker night this weekend and I thought it was a fantastic moment to do a themed sugar cookie. I found this recipe for basic sugar cookies along with this recipe for royal icing. It took me a bit longer to decorate them than I expected, but am so pleased with how they turned out. Alright, anti-up, bets all in, winner gets the cookies.
Shades Of Bordeaux
Equipment Blouse, Rag & Bone Pants, Adrienne Landau Fur Vest (different color), Chanel Handbag, Burberry Booties (similar here), Michael Kors Watch, David Yurman Earrings, Tiffany Ring
It seems as though all that I have been hearing about this fall is the color Bordeaux. I often try holding back on trends of the moment, as they don’t often make it past the season in which they debut. This fall however, I threw all of that out the window. I’m loving the rich, sultry color of Bordeaux. I love that I can pair it with brown or black boots, silver or gold jewelry and just about any other color in between. I also found that it looks quite cute when wearing it head to toe. The only thing I’m missing is a big glass of Bordeaux, just to complete the look of course.
