I cannot believe we’re at the end of August. While Autumn is by far my favourite season, it feels like summer went by in the blink of an eye, and I’m not ready to see it go. And yet, when I really think about it, each individual day felt like a bad scene from Groundhog Day, dragging on as I struggled to find activities to keep the kids busy and engaged. When we envisioned our summer at the lake back in January, we thought it would be bursting at the seams with friends and family coming and going, sleepovers, and beach days. That’s what summer at the lake has always represented, and it was hard adjusting to the isolation and loneliness of not being able to see our friends.
One of the most classic items one can have in their wardrobe is a stripe top, and I’ve worn many versions over the years, such as this and this. It gives an instant pop and quite literally, goes with everything. I love that a classic stripe can elevate something as simple as denim shorts or pants, and while I’ve done quite the overhaul on my wardrobe over the years, the stripes always get to stay.
